Halloween Highlights

The Little Mermaid and her Knight In Shining Armor

Spending Halloween with our friends

Sydney and Abby came to visit

Megan loved handing out candy MORE than she loved collecting it

I don't know who this girl was...but outside of Ben and Megan's costumes this was the best costume I saw. Awesome costume.

Lots of kids joined us this year

We love decorating the house

The "Spooky House"

There's a house in our neighborhood that we've nicknamed "The Spooky House." I've never met the guy who lives there, but every year the owner of this house fills his front yard with tons of spooky Halloween props. A lot of the displays are gruesome, but the kids love driving by at night and looking at all the spooky things. In fact, whenever we drive anywhere the kids always say "can we drive by the spooky house?" Anyway, tonight after we finished trick-or-treating Ben wanted to go visit the spooky house. The guy is kind of cooky. He likes to perform magic tricks for the kids before he hands out any candy, but all the kids love it. Anyway, I thought I'd share with you all why our kids are so fascinated by this house. Remember - this is someone's house.

Trick-Or Treat Party

Here's some pictures of our "Trick-Or-Treat Party" last night. We had some friends over, and then afterward more of Ben's friends from the neighborhood joined us and everyone went out trick-or-treating together. At one time we had as many as 17 kids. Wow! The weather was a little chilly, but not bad really. Besides, the kids were too busy running from house to house to notice. Ben had a blast hanging out with so many friends. This was also the first year Megan really got into the whole trick-or-treating thing. She kept up with the bigger kids pretty well, and she loved showing off her mermaid costume to everyone.

Getting Ready For Halloween

Yesterday we spent the day getting ready for our Halloween party. Every year we invite some friends over to join us for trick-or-treating, and we fix up all sorts of food and snacks. Every year Jenny likes to come up with a new Halloween dish. This year she made "Mummy Pizza." Other highlights included cupcakes and cookies, "Worm Hot Dogs," and "Gummy Worm Punch." And for the first time Ben even designed his pumpkin, which I later carved.

Ben's Halloween Party

Megan wasn't the only one participating in a Halloween party on Friday. Ben's school had a school-wide Halloween party. Each class had their own individual party, and all the classes got to parade through the hallways.
