After Megan's party we all returned to the house and the kids played some Wii, and specifically the "Just Dance" game. I don't know if it was the catchy music, or just the result of high sugar levels from the party...but we kind of had ourselves a mini dance party. Even the moms got into the act. All the kids burned off some energy...and everyone slept pretty good that night.
Yesterday we all got home from our week vacation up north, and then a few hours later it was time to celebrate Megan's birthday. It was Megan's very first "official" birthday party, so she was very excited. We made it a "Tinker Bell / Captain Hook" party, since we had mostly boys. Jenny ordered the best cake you'll ever see at a kids party. It was as delicious as it looks in these photos. The party was at the Midland Tennis Center, so all the kids got to play games and run around before all the snacks. It was a fun time and Megan had a blast as you can tell.
Happy Birthday Megan! On our last full day of the trip we left Munising and drove back to Mackinac Island so we could finish up our time on the island. On our way over to the island Ben lost his first tooth...right there on the ferry. It was hilarious. On the island we toured Fort Mackinac (which was in the Revolutionary War and the War of 1812.) You would think the kids would be bored out of their minds, but actually they all loved it. None of them wanted to leave. We also walked around town looking at all the old buildings (like the Grand Hotel) and then we took a horse carriage ride back into town for dinner. Before bedtime Megan got to open a present for her birthday...an Ariel bath doll from "Little Mermaid." We all had a great day celebrating Megan's 3rd birthday.
