Another Class Trip For Ben

This week Ben is on another class trip with his school.  All this week the entire 4th grade is in Leysin, Switzerland, where the kids will spend their time hiking, rock climbing, zip-lining, class projects, etc.  They left Monday morning from the school on board two coach buses, and they'll return Friday afternoon.  This is the 3rd class trip Ben has done at ZIS and he absolutely loves them.  Some of the kids have a hard time with these trips, and they get a little nervous about the whole thing.  Ben however is very comfortable going on these trips and really looks forward to them.  Here's some photos I got of he and his friends before they boarded the bus.

Happy Birthday Megan!

Today we threw another birthday party for Megan.  Of course her birthday was last month, but she wanted a party with her friends from school.  So we invited a few girls over today and everyone got to celebrate Megan turning 6.  The girls played dress up, played some games, ate some cake and treats, and just hung out.  All the girls go to the international school together.  Megan and two others are from the U.S., one girl is from France, and one is from Hungary.  They all get along great.  Here's what they did...

Prague, Czech Republic - Day 2

Sunday morning I decided to wake up at 5:30 so I could walk over to "Charles Bridge" and get some shots of the bridge without all the crowds of people.  Even though I was still tired from the long day before I'm glad I got an early start because I got some good pictures.  "Charles Bridge" is one of the icons of Prague, but if you want to see it in its best state you have to get there before the crowds arrive. In the middle of the day it is so crowded you can't even see the bridge you're standing on.  Anyway, as you can see it's a beautiful bridge.  It's one of those classic "Europe" scenes you imagine in your head.  I decided to play around with some of these images and turn them black and white.  I apologize in advance if a lot of the pictures seem the same.  I imagine I'll go through them someday and frame one or two.

Anyway, later on we all paid a visit to the Lego Museum.  It's supposedly the largest Lego museum in Europe, but it really wasn't that big.  It's basically a huge collection of Lego sets from over the years.  The kids really enjoyed it.  Then after lunch we went up to "Petrin Hill," which is a park that overlooks the city.  The main attraction is Prague's "Little Eiffel Tower," which is a large observation tower.  There's also a "Mirror Maze" that the kids thought was pretty cool.  Then after that we made our way back to the airport to fly back home.

All in all it was a quick trip, but we managed to see a city we would probably not have seen otherwise if we were coming over from America.  So it was worth the effort.
