Leslie Nielsen

As most of you heard Leslie Nielsen passed away yesterday. I am such a huge Nielsen fan. I've seen his movies countless times and he still makes me laugh out loud. Back in 1988 I worked at a movie theater when NAKED GUN was first released. I remember seeing it for the first time and thinking "this is the funniest movie I've ever seen." I think I saw that movie a hundred times. Anyway, he'll be missed.

Thanksgiving In Texas - Life At Random

Here are some other pictures I like, including Megan diving into some tasty Tex-Mex. We sure had a fun trip. It was good to see everyone.

Thanksgiving In Texas - Day 9

On our last day we all had a "cowboy breakfast" of eggs and bacon and biscuits cooked over the fire. Then everyone threw a surprise "baby shower" for Kirsten and Daniel. Finally, it was time for us to say goodbye. After an hour long delay of Jenny losing our car keys we finally drove to the airport and flew back home. The kids were pretty much exhausted on the plane, but they were real troopers trekking through all the airports. I really believe sometimes we have some of the best kids when it comes to traveling.

Thanksgiving In Texas - Day 8

Friday was a very active and busy day out in east Texas. Throughout the day everyone played games, went on hikes, played out on the water, and just hung out. In the afternoon the boys learned how to play "Marbles" (and thus Ben and Jackson earned their "Marbles" belt loops for cub scouts.) Then later in the afternoon everyone went to McCurdy's for dinner, and then over to Randy and Charlotte's "Hidden Springs Ranch" for Christmas gifts. Finally, some of us also set up tents for a night out camping and made a bonfire. It was a long and busy day.

Thanksgiving In Texas - Day 7

On Thursday Steve and Wendy served up a Thanksgiving brunch at their house. Jenny's stepbrother and his family (Nathan and Leslie, Will, Cate, and Hudson) also joined us, along with my parents...so it was a full house. Then of course afterward it was picture time. Later that day we drove back out to east Texas to Jackie and Judd's lakehouse for a nice Thanksgiving dinner.

Thanksgiving In Texas - Day 6

Wednesday we went to the Dallas Zoo with Jenny's dad and stepmom. The kids love going to zoos, and they really enjoyed this one. The highlight for the kids I think was feeding the giraffes, but they also enjoyed the "children's zoo" where they got to feed the birds and animals.

That night we went to Jenny's great aunt's house (Margie and David) for their annual "day-before-Thanksgiving" Thanksgiving meal. I got this amusing picture of Megan participating in some intelligent grown-up conversation.
