"We're Sinking! We're Sinking!"
Ben found this video recently in his German class at school. It's pretty funny, and very fitting with our language issues over here.

"Räbechilbi" 2013
This year we celebrated another "Räbechilbi." This is the European holiday that I wrote about last year. The holiday celebrates the transition from fall to winter, and is celebrated by carving turnips and lighting them with candles. You can read more about it here.
Anyway, here are some highlights from our "Räbechilbi" this year: Below you'll see pictures from the big "Räbechilbi" parade they have in our village. It's supposedly one of the largest in Europe. All the "lights" you see in the pictures are actually turnips with candles inside. Pretty amazing.

Halloween 2013
Well, another Halloween season has come and gone. Celebrating Halloween over here in Switzerland just isn't quite the same as it is in the States, but we made the best of it this year I think. This year we went up to the international school for another "Trunk Or Treat" event. The kids dressed up in their costumes and we decorated the car. As you can see there was quite a turnout. This year Megan dressed up as a witch, and Ben made his costume. He's "Steve" from Minecraft (a video game he likes to play.)
A few days later we invited some friends over and had a Halloween party at our house. Every year we have a party on Halloween, and we've tried to continue the tradition over here. We had families from the UK, the US, Denmark, and Hungary. We had food and treats, the kids got to dress up, and we played some "Halloween Charades."
Anyway, here's some of the highlights from this year's Halloween.
