Last weekend we held our first ever garage sale. Midland holds a city-wide garage sale twice a year, where everyone who wants to hold a garage sale does so...and all the bargain hunters come out in full force and drive around town looking for bargains. So we thought it would be a good time to get some of our stuff out and see what we could get rid of.
We were able to sell a lot of things we don't use or need anymore, as well as some hand-me-down furniture that we've somehow accumulated over the years. Our biggest seller was all the kid's clothing. All in all, we had a successful day. We were able to get rid of most of our stuff...and we came away with over $400. Not bad when most of the things we were selling were a couple of bucks each. We had a pretty good turnout for the day. We got started around 8 am, and finished around 2 or 2:30. After that I took all the items we had left over to the Salvation Army. At the end of the day we got rid of a good amount of stuff...so I guess it was worth it in the end. It was a lot of work though.
