Girls Just Want To Have Fun!

Here's Kate and Megan hamming it up for the camera at dinner last night. Megan and Kate really hit it off on the trip. They are (unbelievably) the only girls in this extended family of ours...and Megan was old enough this time to interact with Kate. It's so nice that Megan has a buddy too.

Life At Random - Texas Edition

Here's some random pictures from our trip to Houston. Ben is a pro's pro when it comes to flying on an airplane, but up til now Megan has been a handful at times. However, this was her best trip so far. Both ways she did great. She sat quietly in her seat. I read books with her, and she enjoyed her snacks. Perhaps we've turned a corner with her. Time will tell.

Fun At The Space Center

On Sunday, the Leslie's...the Hames...Steve & Wendy...and ourselves all went to the Space Center. Ever since Ben went there a year ago all he has talked about is when are we going back there. This trip to Houston was partially about getting him back there for another visit...and of course he had a great time. All the kids played around on the space equipment, and we all took in a couple of exhibits and shows. The highlight for me was touring the Saturn V rocket. I know I saw it as a little kid back in the day but it was like seeing it again for the first time for me. We all had a great time. I know if we all lived in Houston we would probably make routine visits there about once a month.

It's A Party!

Saturday afternoon Nathan and Leslie threw a birthday party for all 3 of their children. All three have birthdays close together, and all are close in age to one another. Wil is 4, Kate is 3, and Hudson is 2. Lots of friends and cousins were there and everyone had a lot of fun playing together. The Leslie's also set up their huge bouncy castle, made sno-cones, served BBQ, had lots of games for the kids, and even had pony rides. It was the party of all parties. Ben and Megan had a blast.

Go Mustangs!

This past weekend we flew down to Houston to hang out with the family. On Saturday morning Ben and I watched his cousin Wil play soccer. The team's name is the Mustangs, and Wil's dad Nathan coaches the team. We watched along with Mat, Jackson, and Luke...the Leslie's...and Steve and Wendy. Go Mustangs! Looked like everybody had fun.
