Summer is made for "Schwimmen"

Well...the weather is finally getting nice and warm, and all the rain we've been having lately is finally tapering off.  So for several days now we've been blessed with sunny, warm days.  The kids have been swimming a few times in Lake Zurich.  There are two main swimming areas by the lake in our village.  One is a large beach area with plenty of grass to lay down a towel and watch the kids play in the water.  They have a beach there and plenty of swimming areas.  The other is a smaller park that has a playground, as well as a swimming area in the lake.  Last week we met Megan's friend Kayley there for a playdate.  (Kayley's family is from Melbourne, Australia.)  Anyway, I've taken a few dips in the lake myself...and all I'll say is the kids are braver than I am.  While the water is incredibly clean it is also very cold.  Speaking of swimming, we've also been frequenting the pool up at Dow Chemical.  The pool there is free to all Dow families in the afternoons, so we've been going up there as well.  The kids are having a great summer so far, and they're getting pretty wet.
