Geneva & Lausanne, Switzerland - Day 2

I should title this part of the blog "The Frames And The Chocolate Factory."  On our second day, on the way back to Zurich, way we stopped in the small village of Broc (and I mean small).  Broc is home to the Maison Cailler Chocolate Factory, one of the oldest chocolate companies in Switzerland.  It literally sits nestled in a picturesque Swiss valley, surrounded by mountains in the Gruyere region of Switzerland.   Jenny booked us a reservation for a "Chocolate Making Class" at the factory.  So we got to put on chef hats and aprons, and we got to make authentic Swiss Chocolate.  We made some chocolate bars, as well as some chocolate fishes, bears, and pigs.  Our instructor was Olivier, who made the class a lot of fun.  And if you look at the kids' faces in the photos you will see we were doing a lot of snacking.  It was a blast.  It was definitely one of the most fun things we've been able to do in Switzerland.  After our class we also got a chance to take a tour and see how they make the chocolate.  The highlight of the tour was the "tasting room" where you got to try free samples of chocolate.  Let's just say by the time we left the factory our bellies were full, as well as our shopping bags.  It was a fun day that we'll remember for a long time.
