Back in Midland we call the day we go to the farm and get our pumpkins "pumpkin day." Well, this past weekend we drove over to a local farm and bought our pumpkins for the season. To our surprise we found many different varieties. Evidently there are other farms in the area that sell pumpkins, but this one was closer. Now Halloween does exist in Switzerland, but it is very small compared to let's say Germany or other countries in Europe. And of course nowhere does it compare to what it is in the U.S. But from what I hear it's slowly growing in popularity. Anyway, the German word for pumpkin is "kürbis," so it was our traditional "kürbis tag" for the year.
