Yesterday the "General Alarm" signal was sounded across Switzerland. This is a regular ascending and descending tone which lasts for a minute or so and then eventually repeats itself. Every year on February 6th the alarms are tested in every village at regular intervals between 1:30pm and 3pm, and yesterday we witnessed it. I fully expected the siren to sound something like the tornado sirens they have in the states, but this was something far more eerie. The alarm sounded something like what you would hear in the movie THE OMEN, or THE EXORCIST. I can only imagine back in the day what it would have been like to see Nazi planes flying overhead while hearing this alarm. If you don't believe me...take a look for yourself.
