Monday morning we were greeted by a nice sunrise over Lake Huron. We had planned on spending more time on Mackinac Island, but a line of storms was headed our way, so we decided to tour some nearby lighthouses instead. First we climbed to the top of Old Mackinac Point Lighthouse, where the kids got a great view of the Mackinac Bridge and the water. Then we drove 4 miles down the road to the McGulpin Point Lighthouse, and the kids got to climb to the top of that light as well. It's pretty fun to watch kids explore an old lighthouse. They love climbing to the top. Then we drove west 2 hours through Michigan's upper peninsula, (stopping at the Seney Wildlife Refuge along the way) and arrived in Munising and checked into our hotel. After dinner we made a quick stop in the Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore and hiked to Munising Falls, which is a beautiful waterfall just outside of town. It was a long day, but it was fun and the kids did great.
