"Nanapalooza" - Paris, France

A few weeks ago Jenny's Mom came over for a 2 week visit.  After spending a few days getting acclimated to the time change the 5 of us went on a week long trip to France and Italy.  Our plans were to take the train from Zurich to Paris, spend a day and a half in the city, and then go onto "Disneyland Paris" for a few days for the Halloween festivities.  Then around the middle of the week our plans were to fly from Paris to Rome, where we would rent an apartment and take 3 different tours.  It was a busy week, and as you'll see...an exciting one.

We began by taking the train to Paris.  From Zurich it's about a 4 hour trip.  Not bad considering it's normally about 8 hours by car.  Jenny's Mom had never been to Paris, so she was especially excited.  Once we checked into our hotel (near the train station) we almost immediately headed over to see Notre Dame, which had a mass going on at the time.  This was our 3rd time to Notre Dame and I never get tired of it.  It's definitely one of the most spectacular cathedrals we've seen in Europe.  Then after dinner we ended the day at the Eiffel Tower to see the evening light display.

We started the next day with a quick visit to the "Arc de Triomphe" (my personal favorite.)  While we were there Megan made friends with two Asian women who thought she was fascinating.  So much in fact that they want their picture taken with her.  This is the second time we've had Asians want to take their picture with our kids (the first was with Ben in Germany.)  This is also the second time Megan has had a memorable experience at the "Arc de Triomphe" (the first being when she was acting naughty and had to sit in timeout.)  Anyway, from there the kids and I went to the Wax Museum while the ladies visited the Paris Opera House.  That was about all we had time for because after that we had to catch the train to Disneyland.
