Disney World - Day 3: Kennedy Space Center & Downtown Disney

Our third day of the trip was supposed to be an "off day." But I thought it would be a wasted opportunity to fly all the way down to Florida and not take Ben to the Kennedy Space Center. So while Jackie, Jenny, and Megan went to Animal Kingdom, Ben and I drove an hour east to Cape Canaveral and toured KSC.
We of course saw all the old rockets and capsules, and we saw a vintage Saturn V rocket. We also got to walk in a full scale replica of the Shuttle. But the highlight of the visit was taking the official tour. The tour took us to the runway where the Shuttle lands, and we went to the closest possible spot the public is allowed to view the Shuttle launching pad. And to our surprise when we got there...the Shuttle was in fact on the pad, so Ben got to see that. That was pretty cool, and worth the price of admission right there.
We returned to Disney World and joined Jackie, Jenny, and Megan at Downtown Disney. There we did lots of shopping, like at the Disney store and the Lego store. But the highlight of the night was of course having dinner at the T-Rex Restaurant. From the makers of Rainforest Cafe, the T-Rex brings you a similar atmosphere and feel...only with dinosaurs. Jenny and I are not fans of the Rainforest Cafe restaurants, but we really loved the T-Rex Restaurant. The food was not bad, but it's the atmosphere that's so much fun. It's a loud place mind you, but a lot of fun. And of course Ben being the dinosaur nut he is....absolutely went ga-ga over the place.
