On Sunday Mat and I got up early at 5:30 and drove over to the west side of the park for a summit hike. We decided to hike up to the summit of Mount Ida...which sits right on the official Continental Divide Trail. Most of the hike was above treeline, which rewarded us with incredible views of the Never Summer Range directly to our west. Though we struggled with one or two false summits, we eventually reached the summit of Ida around 10:30. We stayed up at the top for about an hour and then descended back down to the car. It was a great hike, and the views from the summit were incredible.

(Below) - Here you can get a sense of the distance we traveled. Mount Cheley is the farthest peak to the left...and Mount ida is just to the right of it. Everything else to the right is the ridge we hiked upon.
