3 Heart Attacks in a Night

Last night was the Big 12 Championship game (as most of you know) and Texas miraculously won with a second left on the clock (as most of you know.) And as a result of the win Texas is going to Pasadena, California next month to play Alabama for the national championship. But the way Texas won the game...well...it was heart wrenching to watch at times. The Texas offense struggled for the entire game against the Nebraska defense, and both looked flat. Finally, down by 2 with a minute or so remaining Texas drove the field and got within field goal range to potentially win the game. Then with 7 seconds left Colt McCoy decides to run one more play. He scrambles around and eventually throws the ball out of bounds, but fails to notice the game clock ran to "0," thus ending the game. The Nebraska team stormed the field celebrating their incredible upset. The refs then decide to go to the replay booth and they decide to put 1 second put back on the clock. So with 1 second remaining the Texas kicker kicks a 44 yard field goal to win the game as time expires.
So the Longhorns perfect season continues, and we'll see if they can win it all next month in California. But games like that one last night are just more proof that college football is so much better than the NFL. What a classic!
