"The Spooky House"

We're a week away from Halloween, and that means it's time for "the spooky house." Every year one of the houses in our neighborhood goes all out for Halloween...and when I say all out I mean ALL OUT. Here's what the house looked like on Halloween last year. Pretty incredible huh? I told you it was all out. We make an effort to decorate our house for Halloween and make it spooky, but this house takes it to a whole other level. Keep in mind...this is someone's house. You would think the neighbors would hate this house but everyone kind of likes it. You see people walking by and slowly driving by looking at all the decorations. Ben and Megan are fascinated by the house, and Ben is now brave enough where he wants to walk up to the house and get a closer look at all the characters. Our favorite is the rock band - known as "The Dead Beats." The guy built all 4 characters from scratch, and he even constructed a stage and lighting for the band. Then he rigged up the lights and characters to sync up with the audio. It's pretty amazing. On Halloween night the owner of the house stands at his front door and performs magic tricks for the kids. You would think the guy is very odd, and maybe you're right. But we've gone by his house a few times and the guy seems nice. Yes it's a little strange to turn your front yard into "Night Of The Living Dead," but from someone who is the only one who decorates his house for Halloween on our street I admire anyone who just wants to entertain the kids in the neighborhood. Makes Halloween all more fun.
