"The Wild Wild West" - Day 1

Well...as most of you know we just got back from a 2 week trip out west. We camped in Wyoming with Jenny's mother's family, and we toured around South Dakota with my parents. We had an unbelievable time. For the past week I've been slowly going through my log of pictures (over 800) and now I've finally uploaded the best of the best. Here's day 1 of our 2 week adventure.

Day 1 was a driving day. We drove through Chicago and all through Iowa. We ended up making it all the way to Council Bluffs (on the western border of Iowa.) Pretty good for a day of driving. Best of all the kids did great in the car, considering we left the house around 8:30 Michigan time, and arrived at our hotel in Iowa around 10. Speaking of Iowa, Jenny and I were very surprised at how scenic Iowa turned out to be. It's true that it's a state full of corn fields and wind farms, but we had no idea it was so green and hilly. It was like driving through an English countryside. Anyway, here's day 1 of the trip.
