On day 5 we all woke up early and drove down to the corrals for a "Breakfast Wagon Ride." I first learned about this activity a few years ago watching a program on the Travel Channel, and I've wanted to do it ever since. We all hopped aboard a horse-driven wagon and rode out to an open pasture with a beautiful view of the Teton range. There we all sat down at picnic benches and enjoyed a great pancake breakfast cooked up "cowboy" style. It was delicious and so much fun. When we arrived back at the corrals all the kids wanted to ride some horses, so they all had fun doing that...especially Megan. She loved it, and the activity soon became a hit with her throughout the week (more on that later.)
Anyway, in the afternoon several of us drove to the Jenny Lake area and hiked the "String Lake / Leigh Lake trail." It's a beautiful little lake right at the base of Mt. Moran. Then at night it was our turn to cook, and we prepared an italian dinner (spaghetti and calzone) in the middle of a rain/hail storm. But later on the weather cleared up and we all enjoyed smore's around the campfire and the kids put on several "skits" for us.
