For our last full day we drove north to Taos. Going there we took the "low road," which follows along the Rio Grande Valley and the gorge. The scenery is quite stunning in some areas. We reached Taos and toured the Taos Pueblo. The Pueblo was kind of cool. There were a lot of restrictions going in (such as no photos of people without their permission, no photos in the chapel, and no photos period without a fee). But once we got in we found the people genuinely nice and friendly. After that we headed into town and walked around the town plaza area. It was okay, but not nearly as nice as Santa Fe. When we were ready to leave we headed south via the "high road," which took us through the Carson National Forest and the Wheeler Peak area. Lots of great mountain scenery along the way.
