Hiking in Bay City

On Thursday the kids and I planned on doing a hike but we wanted to try something new. So I took the kids over to Bay City to the "Bay City State Recreation Area," which is a state park that sits on the edge of Lake Huron. We hiked a 1-mile trail around the "Tobico Lagoon." Part of the trail branches off toward the beach and the lake. It was a little "steamy" but overall the kids had fun hiking someplace new. When they get on the trail they become "little explorers." They get interested in everything around them. It's fun to watch. Lately I've been trying to get Ben interested in "sketching" and "journaling" things he sees on his hikes, so one of the pictures below is him drawing a sketch of Lake Huron. The kids also enjoy visitor centers and exhibits. They love walking around and pressing the buttons and doing the activities.
