Leaving the U.P.

Well...that's our trip to the U.P. We had a great time. The upper peninsula is really beautiful. It's rustic, wooded, and dotted with lots of lakes and waterfalls. We like Munising a lot. Like I mentioned before, this was our second trip up there. There's the Pictured Rocks National Seashore, the Hiawatha National Forest, the Grand Island Recreation Area, and the Seney Wildlife Refuge...all right there. So there's lots to do. Our only complaint is the town itself. There's simply not that much to do when you're not hiking or out in the woods. If you're looking to relax and stroll through town you're not going to find much. The local economy up there is kind of struggling. You quickly go through the list of restaurants and shops. But overall it worked out.
The funny thing is we know people around here that have never been up to the U.P., or been that far west into it. Most people go to the Mackinac bridge and that's about it.
So that about sums up our trip. Here's some random pictures of the kids.
